Goodbye Goat… And Hello Monkey

Published February 8, 2016 by ireneyksoh

And so its time to bid farewell to Mr Goat and say welcome to Mr Monkey. Time really flies. And as I look forward to 2015, I can’t helped but looked back at how 2015 had been for me.

2015 has not been a bed of roses for me, with lots of ups and downs like a roller coaster. Many things had happened and for a good reason. I am not going to push any blames to others by saying things like, its because of ‘XXX’ or ‘YYY’ that I had to go through such ordeals. My attitude and way in handling situations contributed a large part to this outcome. I simply did not think more seriously and deeply. I tend to presume a lot of things without confirming the executability and its complexity, as well as taking things from granted.

2016

May 2016 be a fruitful year for me. May all my family members, loved ones, friends and colleagues be blessed with great health. May we all win in lots and lots of contest together. Lets huat huat huat ah this monkey year…

My Little Princess Hamu Hime

Published February 1, 2016 by ireneyksoh

It was by God knows how many strokes of luck (Not sure if its mine or hers) that I ‘rescued’ myself a pet hamster at NEL Mrt station. It was so unbelievable that when I told my friends and colleagues about it, most of them simply stare at me and a few simply went dumbfound. The guys were asking: “Why is it not cash that you had found?” and the ladies were asking : ” You pick up a rat with bare hands?” I was like hahaz… Hamsters does also belongs to the Rodent family but they are different from rats. Same goes to other species like Gerbil, Guinea pig, Mice and Chinchilla.

Thanks to a lovely sister, Liana who helped me keep a lookout on SGfreerecycle page, Hamu hime had a really awesome cage to called its home. There were lots of other part to this cage but I decided to keep it sweet and simple. Not only because Hamu hime is still quite small. Mostly importantly, is due to space constraint in my house.

My favourite past-time now is to watch the sleeping habits of my little princess Hamu hime. Its not as if my bro and I did not buy any toys for her. We even gotten her a cute wooden house to sleep in. But our darling princess simply refuse to sleep in the house. She would rather sleep all around her cage than inside. The house ended up becoming her dumping ground for empty seed shells and garbage.

Was your hamster that cute too? Care to share with me?

I LOVE DAISO …

Published January 17, 2016 by ireneyksoh

I am a super big fan of Daiso and I loved to go shopping at Daiso outlets. I even joined almost all Daiso groups on Facebook to get to know more Daiso fanatics like myself. I really loved their ideas and am looking forward to their post daily.

Daiso kinda reminds me of the good old $1.99 shop. I missed that shop too. That was the shop that got me addicted to japanese culture and snacks. I would never fail to go shopping during my lunch break when I was working at Ngee Ann City. Its like treasure hunt to me.

With just a mere $2 per item, you will tend to overlook and grabbed too many items, only to realised it when you are making payment at the cashier counter. So I only bring enough money for my meal and max $10 with me if I were to go Daiso.

The solar powered black and white kitties are so cute. I bought a set for myself and more to share among my friends. They all loved them too. The orange bottle is Wrinkle smoother for clothes. I saw a number of good reviews among Daiso fans for it so I’ve gotten a bottle to try too. Not really a wow factor for me. But at least my clothes remain nice and smooth for a while.

The translucent tray is called a fry try. It is suppose to contain ingredients for you to prepare fried stuff, thus its name. The fry tray is from a similar shop name Tokutokuya. Daiso also sells fry tray but I was never able to get any for myself. It was often sold out within hours after being display out. I loved to read updates and see the different ways of using the fry tray by other and be super amazed by their creativity and awesome ideas.

Next are the cute key cover. I am sure you can tell by now that I am a big fan of anything kitty too. But surprisingly, the mouthless hello kitty is just not my type. I prefer Kuromi instead.

The body sheet is a highly recommended by one lovely gal, Mei ling. And that I definitely must grabbed at least one packet to try. And that I would never regret my decision. She is absolutely correct. The body sheet had since that day topped my list for 1000% die die must buy items from Daiso. Try it and you will loved it like me too.

It is also thank to Mei Ling that I was able to own things from Daiso in Japan and Thailand. She is a very sweet lady who helped all fellow Daiso Fans grabbed things from oversea Daiso back to Singapore and selling them to eager fans at cost price. OMG! Isn’t that so sweet of her??? Although there are people who take advantages of her (Buy cheap from her and go sell on Carousel at profit price). I think those people are totally disgusting..

Everytime I looked at them, I can’t helped but be amazed by the vast type of items available at overseas Daiso. I mean, why can’t they bring in to Singapore also… I am sure a lot of fans like me would loved to get their hands on the items if given the chance…

What is your favourite item from Daiso? And how much do you loved it? Care to share with me here?

Til the next post, Au Revoirs…

Blessings From Friends

Published January 12, 2016 by ireneyksoh

Its only the 2nd week of 2016 and I am being blessed with two sweet gifts from both an online sister and also from a regular customer, when I was working as Retail assistant. I am so happy and honoured to have gotten to know them both.

XXX

The First blessing comes from SIster Liana who gave me this Samsung battery pack. It was very sweet of her to do so. And very timely too as my Xiaomi powerbank is starting to show minor problems now. Though I not sure whether its the cable’s fault or it had indeed spoilt. Shall grab a new cable to test it out…

YYY

The next gift comes from a regular customer cum friend. I had known him since I first started work in 2012. He will drop by my workplace whenever he is nearby and dropped my colleagues and myself some small gifts like the two pouch as shown. A very sweet and chatty gentleman. He is more than just a regular customer to me. He is also a good friend.

Am so thankful to them both for giving me such lovely surprises. May they both be blessed with great health and fortune…

Till then, Au Revoir…

The Singapore Mint Charity Coin Pack

I went down to The Singapore Mint Lunar Fair at Chinatown Point to grab some commemorative coins to be given to friends and relatives during coming Chinese New Year. There were lots of new coins, medallion and other products available for sale at the fair. But they are not my main aim at this fair. To avoid the early crowds, I purposely avoid the first 3 days of the fair and only go down on the fourth day. it was still kinda crowded here and there. But I was still able to look around without stretching my neck too much…

I’ve read from The Singapore Mint online catalog that they will be selling a Charity Coin Pack at their Lunar Fair for the first time this year. Each pack consists of 1kg of circulation foreign coins and all sales proceeds will go to charity. Isn’t that such a wonderful thing? You get to own a packet of awesome coin and do charity at the same time. How more lovely can things be…

AAA

This is one of the Charity Coin pack that I had purchased. I will going down to grab a packet per day if I have the time. Each packet contains different coins and the kind lady tending the counter took out a few packets for me to choose. So I looked through and grabbed the bag that contains quite a number of ‘big’ coins inside.

And these are some of the coins found inside the pack of coins that I had purchased. Not bad as I had quite a number of Euro, Australia, Hongkong and also Japanese coins. One of the my favourite coin is the Japanese 5 Yen, which has been known as “Lucky Coin” in Japan.

Why you may ask? In Japan, 5 Yen is pronounced as “go en (五円)” which is a homophone with “go-en (御縁)” which means “honorably good luck” especially in terms of relationships. Thus is it commonly given as donations to Shinto Shrines. Another belief is that placing a 5 yen coin in a new wallet before putting any other money will attract good luck. People also carry them in their pocket, purse, wallet or wear it on a chain or ribbon (The centred hole makes it easy to be string). Sometimes new wallets are sold already containing a five yen coin inside.

A Fresh Start….

Published December 18, 2015 by ireneyksoh

hiatus2

Am tied down by many things recently, both at work and at home and they are making me kinda lose my mind. I started going back to my hermit crab status, building ‘invisible’ protective walls around myself again. I kept to myself and stopped talking to anyone unless necessary. And it was then I decided to take another break. But I seriously never expect myself to be gone for so long.

I had a change in job nature since the month of August. I am no longer working in frontline as retail assistant. Instead, I stepped down and work behind as a supportive sales admin. Had a hard time waking up in the morning as I am not really a early person. But now that things has started to settle down, I want to start sharing things here with my friends again. Hope you will be able to give me your support as always.

Til then, au revoir…
